The Historical Hotties tournament has begun! Follow PLL over the next couple of weeks as we lead up to BELLADONNA’s July 16th release to place bets on the swooniest YA boys from way-back-when and even some from the distant future!
Each contestant has been carefully chosen by the wonderful PLL Trendsetters and the PLL story architects. Join us each week to learn why each YA boy made the cut, and let us know in the comments if you agree or disagree.
From today until Wednesday night (July 10th), we want you to vote on your favorite OLD SCHOOL GENTS who seem most likely to sweep you off your feet after comparing your eyes to constellations instead of whistling at you down the block like (some of) today’s men.
Mr. Knightley: Honest, sympathetic, kind-hearted and every other good adjective you want in a man.
Joe: I hated Pip in Great Expectations, but Joe was the definition of a gentleman. His kindheartedness, his wisdom, his compassion–there is possibly no one more good than Joe. (PLL Trendsetter Julianna)
Jay Gatsby: Okay, so I know he goes a little crazy but it all comes from his will to win Daisy. I love how nervous he gets right before he sees her again, it’s just adorable. He would do anything for her, because he has loved her forever. And let’s not forget the fabulous parties he threw just hoping she would stop by.(PLL Trendsetter Corinne)
Rhett: Everything about Rhett and his relationship with Scarlett O’Hara is flirty and easy to love. There’s something enchanting about the way he acts with her and magnetic about his personality at large. (PLL Trendsetter Abbie)
Romeo: Long gone are the days when a boy called for you to come out to your balcony so he can tell you some sweet words. *siiiiiiigh*
Gilbert: Gilbert is probably the sweetest love interest of all. So maybe he calls Anne “carrots” and likes to tease her, but he truly loves her and cares for her. And he accepts that he’s almost as smart as she is. Even after she rejects him (stupidly) he continues to love her. Swooooon. (PLL Trendsetter Emily)
Robin Hood: He not only steals from the rich and gives to the poor, but he also steals your heart and gives you the greatest love story ever.
Heathcliff: Uh, er… pick Heathcliff or he might just vow vengeance… (He’s got my vote! Heh heh…heh heh…*awkward*)
